NORTHSIDE, Ohio - Police have arrested a suspect in the fatal overnight shooting and murder of a man who was standing on his porch in the troubled Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati.

Officers were called Thursday October 21st 2010 about 2:30 a.m. to Knowlton Street, where they found 30-year-old Christopher Laskey dead on the front porch of a home.

Investigators said the shooting came after an argument between two men.

A woman was at the scene, police said, but she was not injured. Neighbors also reported hearing 6-7 gunshots and arguing. Police issued a warrant for 23-year-old Michael Jones Jr., of Fairfield, who surrendered to police and remains in police custody at the Hamilton County Justice Center on murder charges.

UPDATE 11/03/2011:
Convicted Murderer Michael S. Jones Jr., the 18-year-old who shot and killed a Northside man on his own front porch, was sentenced to 18 years to Life in prison by Judge Andrew West in early November of 2011. He eligible for parole in 2029.
