A violent Rape suspect was caught on tape on a 38th Street gas station security system camera.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan Police need the public’s help identifying a man wanted for raping a woman after she asked to use his cell phone.

Police say the victim met the man around 12:30am February 15th at the BP gas station at 37 W. 38th St.

"That person said, 'yes you can borrow my cell phone - but follow me over here," said Steve DuBois, of Crime Stoppers.

The victim then followed the man to 38th and Meridian streets where he hit her in the head, pulled her into a dark area and raped her.

IMPD Detectives located pictures of the man on video surveillance cameras.

The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, skinny, wearing a cream colored stocking cap, brown patterned jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and brown boots. He was last seen riding away on a blue bicycle.
