The troubled Over-The-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati continues to struggle with violent drug-related crime.

CINCINNATI - Two teens have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a pregnant woman in Over-the-Rhine, and News 5 has learned these teens may be part of a bigger robbery ring.

Police said three teens tried to rob Shyna Wilfong, 28, near Main and 13th streets. When Wilfong refused to give up anything, one of the teens shot her.

Early Thursday, officers said they arrested a 14-year-old in connection with the shooting. Officers announced the arrest of a 17-year-old Thursday afternoon.

Wilfong's child was not injured and she's expected to recover.

Police said the 14-year-old who was arrested has been on their radar for more than a year and is suspected of being part of a gang of armed robbers.

"He's one of those individuals whose name keeps popping up in investigations again and again," said Cincinnati Police Lt. Mike John.

Police said the two teens arrested in Wednesday's shooting and another 17-year-old still at large are believed to be part of the same group that robbed and assaulted a man in January.

Alex Shebar told News 5 then that a group of teens punched him in the face and took his cell phone.

Last week, Cincinnati police district one formed a robbery task force to focus on a gang of young armed robbers.
