CLEVELAND - A Lorain, Ohio man was sentenced to 30-years-to-Life for the murder and the cover up that followed of an 8-month-old baby. This was part of a plea deal reached with local prosecutors that avoided the Death penalty for Mr. Kimbrough.

Kevin Kimbrough pleaded guilty to murdering eight month old Jayden Davidson while he was babysitting the boy back in 2007.

During the investigation, Kimbrough originally told told police that he drove the child to the home of his girlfriend, Cassandra Fonseca, 25, in the 1200 block of W. 5th Street. He told police Jayden started vomiting during the five minute drive and stopped as they arrived at Fonseca's home. Kimbrough said that Jayden then stopped breathing, and he tried to perform CPR on the baby and called 911 from Fonseca's cell phone.

The Coroner says the baby died from severe head injuries. His autopsy revealed evidence of older injuries as well, said Sgt. Mark Carpentiere of the Lorain Police Department at an evening news conference right after the murder of the infant.

Kimbrough has been behind bars since his 2007 arrest making him eligible for parole in 2037, in another 26 years.
