Kokomo Police: Man Tried To Snatch 8-Year-Old Girl

An 18-year-old Joshua Lacoy Buntyn, a Kokomo Indiana man and registered sex offender, was arrested Tuesday after police say he tried to abduct an 8-year-old girl from the front porch of her own home.
Police were called to the home around 4:18 p.m. Tuesday after the girl ran to a neighbor’s home.
The girl told police she was on the front porch when the man — who had been walking around the neighborhood — grabbed her arm and tried to pull her from the porch. She said she was able to get away from the man before running to a neighbor’s home for help.
Kokomo Police say the girl wasn’t injured in the incident.
Officers asked the girl for a description of the man, and shortly after found someone matching the description in the 600 block of West Madison Street. The girl positively identified the man.
Police arrested 18-year-old Joshua Lacoy Buntyn, on charges of Battery, a Class D felony, and confinement, a Class C felony. Joshua Lacoy Buntyn was previously convicted of Sexual Battery in June of 2011 and made to register as a Sex Offender in Indiana. Buntyn's Facebook page declares that "Being bisexual is the best thing that ever 'happend' to me.", lists himself a fan of children's show The Powerpuff Girls and features pictures of infants.

This is a serious incident involving a registered Sex Offender. Anyone with additional information about this incident should call or contact the Kokomo police department.
UPDATE 04/2022:
Joshua Lacoy Buntyn was arrested for a warrant to due to failing to register as a sex offender in Kokomo Indiana on April 22nd 2022. His time on the sex offender registry is set to expire in 2025.
