Mother And Daughter Murdered By Ex-Con In Price Hill

An ex-con with a history of prison and violence kills a woman and a 12-year-old girl in Price Hill.

A man who spent nearly 7 years in prison for Burglary before being released early by the courts has been arrested after confessing to a 911 operator and police that he stabbed a 12-year-old girl and her mother to death. Cincinnati Police charged the man, Brian K. Everett, 35, with two counts of murder on Wednesday, May 30th 2012.

Police were called to the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue just after 6 a.m. on a report of three people stabbed at the Elberon Garden Apartments. Police said Nicole Smith, 39, and Stephanie Smith, 12, were killed and Brian Everett had minor stab wounds when they arrived.

The following transcript is taken from the 911 call that Brian Everett made after allegedly stabbing his two victims to death.

Caller: "My friend attacked me and her daughter came in and, I, she was swinging a knife and I got to swinging the knife and, uh.."
Dispatcher: "Did you get stabbed?"
Caller: "And, she, they both down."
Dispatcher: "You stabbed them? Did you stab them?"
Caller: "Come on, Stephie!"
Dispatcher: "Did you stab them?"
Caller: "She, they, she tried to stab me."
Dispatcher: "And you stabbed her back?"
Caller: "I was just, you know, I was drunk and we was arguing."
Dispatcher: "Did you stab her, yes or no? Did you stab her? Is that what you're trying to say?"
Caller: "Yes."

"It's really sad. We don't what the circumstances were but they've got someone in custody that they're questioning so we'll find out." said Lakshmi Sammarco, Hamilton County Coroner.

"The motive at this time appears to be domestic in nature, and again that's preliminary. The exact situation or circumstances that brought it to this conclusion, we do not know at this time," said Lt. Anthony Carter from the Cincinnati Police Department.

Brian Keith Everett arrested for murdering a woman and child.One of the victims, Stephanie Nicole has a prolific arrest record. She was arrested or sighted 35 times for mostly traffic and misdemeanor offenses since 1999. Her most significant arrest was for Domestic Violence in 2010 and her conviction on charges of Attempting to Receive Stolen Property in October of the same year.

Brian Everett also has a long and serious history of criminal behavior including a 1998 Burglary conviction that cost him almost 7 years of his life before being released by the process known as "Judical Release" in early 2006. Since then he was arrested and convicted of Domestic Violence in 2006 and arrested for several alcohol related offenses.

Brian Everett remains at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati until he is arraigned on two counts of Murder.
