DNA in 15-year-old girl's rape leads to arrests of Aziz Animashaun, Isiaka Animashaun and Taiwo Animashaun.

CHICAGO, IL - Three South Side brothers accused of abducting a 15-year-old girl at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her in December appeared in bond court Sunday.

Prosecutors say Aziz Animashaun, 22, jumped out of a black SUV at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 and told the girl, who was taking out the trash, to get in the vehicle. When the girl refused, Animashaun allegedly knocked her unconscious by striking her with a handgun and then carried her to the SUV.

Animashaun and four or five other men in the car then took the girl to a home and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors said. While searching the home, police found a used condom and a shiny, antique handgun that matched the description of the one Animashaun is accused of using.

Two men were taken into custody shortly after the assault but were not charged at the time.

Last week, DNA results from the condom were traced to Aziz Animashaun's brother, Taiwo Animashaun, 26. The 15-year-old girl identified Aziz Animashaun and another brother, Isiaka Animashaun, 25, as two of her attackers.

The three Animashauns were arrested Friday. They share an address in the 500 block of East 83rd Street in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood. Each brother faces one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm and one count of kidnapping while armed with a firearm. No one else has been charged.

Cook County Judge Israel Desierto ordered Aziz Animashaun held on $400,000 bail. Isiaka Animashaun is being held on $250,000 bail. Taiwo Animashaun is jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail. The brothers will be back in court Monday.

The three Animashaun brothers are longtime residents of the Chicago area but are citizens of Nigeria. Each of the men told Desierto he did not want the Nigerian consulate notified of his arrest.
