Man Assaults Pregnant Woman With Handgun

Jerome SmithCINCINNATI, OH - A man has been arrested for hitting a pregnant woman in the head with a hand gun.

Jerome Smith, 27, was arrested February 1st, however, the alleged attack on the pregnant woman occurred on January 29th.

The police report states a man with "Genius" tattooed on his forehead attacked Tiera Bryant, who is eight months pregnant at the time the enraged Smith pistol whipped her.

The suspect with the part-cursive face tattoo has already been incarcerated twice, once for five and a half years after being convicted of attempted murder, possession of drugs and burglary in 2003, and more recently for selling heroin. In fact, Smith had only been out of prison for only two and a half months before the attack occurred.

Smith was arrested in the 2700 block of East Tower Drive in Westwood.

During arraignment, the pregnant assault victim, Tiece Bryant, reportedly asked the judge to drop the charges against Smith because police didn't witness the incident. The request was denied.

Smith is charged with felonious assault and held on a $50,000 bond.
