Antrone SmithAfter the 2007 murder of Trustin Blue along with allegations of sexual abuse of that murdered child the people of Cincinnati, no matter how jaded, woke up to the sad fact that many murder victims in the city are children.

Tonight comes a report of another gruesome child murder in the same place that this had child called home. And the accused, none other the child's father, is a long-term unemployed man with a bad temper. The exact same type of individual that killed Trustin Blue in 2006.

A Westwood man is in jail, accused of killing his own two-year-old son by punching him in the stomach hard enough to rupture his internal organs.

Homicide detectives arrested 29-year-old Antrone Smith on Sunday and charged him in the death of his son, DeMarcus Jackson.

On Friday, paramedics had responded to the 3100 block of Bracken Woods Lane for a report of a two-year-old not breathing. The toddler was transported to Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced Dead On Arrival.

An autopsy later concluded that the toddler died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Smith is now being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center. He'll be arraigned on the murder charge, Monday morning.

UPDATE 01/05/2011:
An unprecedent 64 Motions from the Defense of accused child-killer Antrone Smith have been filed in the court of Judge Andrew West. This includes a Motion to Dismiss the Death Penalty due to International Law Violations for man who beat a small child to death in Cincinnati.

The next phase of the trial continues on January 25th 2012.

Antrone Smith A679647Nearly two years after beating his own son to death, two-year-old Demacus Jackson who was no more than a toddler at the time, in his own Westwood home a verdict has been reached.

Antrone Smith was convicted of Murder and Felonious Assault and received a 15 to Life sentence from Cincinnati Judge John Andrew West. Smith is currently at The Correctional Reception Center (CRC) awaiting his housing assignment for the next 15 years. His next parole hearing is set for September of 2026.
